How long is A1 valid for?
An A1 certificate is valid for 24 months. If you stay for longer you must either switch to your host country's social security system or apply for an extension.
You can prove your knowledge of English by passing an approved English language test. You must pass at least level A1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ( CEFR ) scale for your first visa application. You can choose to take a higher level test.
If you're just starting to learn English, this A1 online English test will help you find your current level so that you can clearly set your goals for the language and be aware of your weaknesses as well as your strengths. You'll also be able to take the A1 test from the comfort of your cell phone, tablet, or computer.
IELTS is a Secure English Language Test (SELT) and requires a pass rate of 7.0 in Reading, Speaking and Listening, and 6.5 for Writing.
Age 19 or over. Unless you already have an A1 licence you need the CBT, theory test and the two-part practical test, which will give you an A2 licence. Do this and you can ride any bike of up to 46.6bhp (with a power:weight ratio of no more than 0.266bhp/kg) without L-plates and carry passengers.
What can I ride with a full A1 licence? An A1 licence allows riders aged 17 and over to: Ride a light motorcycle up to 11 kW (and a power-to-weight ratio not more than 0.1kW per kg) and 125 cc (rough top speed of 60mph) Ride without L-plates.

Section 13 Adjustment of Status
In extremely limited circumstances, A-1, A-2, G-1, or G-2 visa holders may be immediately eligible to adjust their immigration of status to that of a Legal Permanent Resident.

TRAINING FOR YOUR FULL A1 LICENCE
Our A1 courses are on average 4 days in length with the CBT and Theory completed prior to the start of your course. The 2 day “Initial” course is perfect for all riders wishing to see where their level of riding is at.
An A1 level of English would be sufficient for very simple interactions, for example as a tourist in an English-speaking country. An A1 level would not be sufficient for other academic or professional purposes.
PTE Home A1: for work and family visas
A beginner-level English test that is accepted by the UK Home Office for several family and work visas. PTE Home A1 measures your English speaking and listening skills at CEFR* Level A1. You receive either a 'pass' or 'fail' result.
Life Skills A1 tests your listening and speaking skills at the level of A1 in the Common European Framework (CEFR). The combined speaking and listening test lasts between 16 and 18 minutes and will take place with an examiner and one other test taker.
A1 Motorcycle Licence
You can: ride a motorcycle or scooter up to 125cc without L plates and to carry a passenger. It is worth noting at this stage that passing a full motorcycle test can help reduce your insurance costs.
The A1 use class (generally known as general retail) includes shops, retail warehouses, hairdressers, undertakers, travel and ticket agencies, post offices and many more.

The restriction will last for at least 2 years, after this time you can take the Progressive Access scheme to gain a full licence. Or if you became 24 years old inside 2 years you can retake the test under the Accelerated Access scheme.
After riding on an AM licence for a minimum of one year, you can take an A1 licence test without any further training, two years later the A2 licence test and then another two years later, the full 'A' licence test when you're 21.
Can you have a passenger with A1 license?
Passing grants a restricted Category A1 motorcycle licence. You can ride any motorcycle up to 11kW (15 bhp)†. You can carry a passenger and use motorways and don't need L plates. *A1 licence WILL NOT automatically convert into a full Category A2 licence, you will be required to complete a Category A2 licence test.
IELTS Life Skills at CEFR Level A1 takes 16–18 minutes, IELTS Life Skills at CEFR Level A2 takes no more than 20 minutes and Level B1 is 22 minutes. There is no break between speaking and listening components as you will be assessed on both skills at the same time.
Can I Get A Green Card With An A1 Visa? It is highly unlikely for you to receive your Green Card while you are in the United States for an A1 Visa. However, it is not entirely impossible. This requirement would basically mean that you give up your diplomatic status with your home country.
Visitors on an A-1 visa cannot be tried under US law for a crime, and may travel to and from the country an unlimited number of times. There is no maximum length of stay for individuals admitted on an A-1 visa, and there is no requirement to maintain a foreign residence.
To become a permanent resident of the U.S., the visa holder must relinquish their status as a diplomat. This includes their A-1 status privileges. The process requires filing Form I-508.
A-1 and A-2 status remains valid as long as their position is recognized by the Secretary of State. Family members of anyone holding A-1 or A-2 status may have employment if and only if their country allows family members of U.S. officials the right to work in their native country.
It consists of 6 levels of reference: three blocks (A or basic user, B or independent user and C or proficient user), which are in turn divided into two sublevels, 1 and 2.
English test A1 (Beginner)

A1 level English can be learned in a month and a half depending on the possibilities and desire to learn. The fact that the lessons and course contents at this level are easier, shorten the time of learning A1 level English even more. You will learn the basic level in a shorter time than advanced English.
How do I clear my A1 exam?
So you have to be able to do the following at an A1 level: listen, read, write, and speak. To reach the A1 level, plan for about 75 total hours of studying. This means that if you study two hours a day, you could be ready in six weeks.

What can an A1-level learner of English do? They can understand and use very common everyday expressions and simple phrases for immediate needs. A1 vs A2 Materials
While A1 materials have no contribution to fire, A2 materials have limited contribution to fire. Stringent tests must be passed in order for construction products to reach a Class A rating. As above, A1 rated products do not require additional safety tests given they are completely non-combustible.
Students achieving marks between 95 to 100 will be graded as A1, 90 to 95 as A2. Grade for marks between 80 to 89 is B1, 70 to 79 is B2, 60 to 69 is B3, 50 to 59 is C1, 40 to 49 is C2, 33 to 39 is C3.

Getting an A1 License

It's now an alphanumeric code, with subcategories to cover what vehicles are allowed under that code. Restriction codes will now be listed in the back, on the same line as the kind of vehicles you're allowed to drive. Category A1 is taken on a learner-legal 125cc motorcycle (11kW / 14.6bhp). On successful completion you'll be able to ride up to a 125cc, 11kW motorcycle without L-plates, be able to take passengers and go on motorways. Anyone from 17-years-of-age upwards can do this category.
A 3-day A1 motorcycle training course, including motorcycle and kit hire and your test fees, will cost around £800. A 2-day course will cost around £200 less. Total cost to get an A1 category motorcycle licence: £800-£900.
Do I need CBT if I have Category A?
You do not need to take a CBT course or take the full moped test. You must take CBT if you want to ride anything larger than a 50cc moped.
The most obvious difference between A1 and A2 driver's licenses is the age limit at which a driver's license can be obtained. While this age limit is 16 for A1 driver's license, you must be at least 18 years old for A2 driver's license.
