To obtain the German A1 certificate, a minimum score of 60 points out of 100 in total is required, that is, we do not require a passing score in each of the sections. Scores from zero to 59 imply that the level was not exceeded.
Get to Know the A1 German Exam Structure
There are four sections and they correspond to the four parts of language learning: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. To pass, you need to hit 60% across the four sections, so if you're bad in one area, you can bring it up with another part of the test.
To pass the examination, you must obtain 60 % of the maximum possible score, i.e. at least 36 Points of 60 points.
German A1 Exam Pattern. There are four sections in each type of examination – Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. The total duration of the language exam is 1 hour 15 minutes. The Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking sections are completed on the same day as the test.
German is a difficult language! Within a month, you should be able to get a hang of most of the basics, such as haben and sein and using the Perfekt tense, enough to where you'll be able to navigate your daily life with relative ease.

Language experts mention that learning German beginner level (or German A1 level) takes at least 75 hours to fully grasp. That takes at least 10 hours or more a day to really finish your language lessons.

Basic A1 to A2 – Attending an Intensive course takes A1 in around 60 hours and A2 in 120 hours. Intermediate B1 to B2 – B1 takes 200 hours and B2 takes approximately 300 hours. Advance C1 to C2 – C1 takes around 240 hours and C2 takes around 240 hours to complete the whole course and become a pro at speaking German.
