Was Tyrion supposed to be a Targaryen?
A couple of key moments throughout the series, caused fans to start speculating about the true parentage of Tyrion Lannister, many coming to the conclusion that he was actually a son of the Mad King Aerys Targaryen.
Tyrion's mum was Joanna Lannister, who was the wife of his father Tywin Lannister. Joanna and Tywin were first cousins, meaning that she was already a Lannister before their marriage. Together they had three children – twins Cerseri and Jaime, and then their youngest child Tyrion.
Daenerys and Tyrion spent a lot of time together during the latter half of the series, but their relationship was strictly business. The exiled Lannister united with the Targaryen queen in season 5 after escaping from King's Landing. Tyrion proved his worth to Daenerys and was appointed her Hand a season later.
He's a Secret Targaryen
The theory that Tyrion is secretly a Targaryen has been floated for years. The hypothesis goes like this: Tywin wasn't Tyrion's father, and he's actually the child of Joanna Lannister and the Mad King Aerys Targaryen.

Queen Daenerys Targaryen
Her father was King Aerys II Targaryen, otherwise known as The Mad King, whose death at the hands of Ser Jaime Lannister marked the end of the Targaryen dynasty ruling on the Iron Throne.

Tyrion is the youngest child of Lord Tywin Lannister, the patriarch of House Lannister, one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in the fictional continent of Westeros. As Tyrion is born a dwarf and his mother died during childbirth, he is resented by Tywin since birth.
